Maria Lizak, Ph.D.
What I Do:
Maria Lizak is dedicated to seeking out the best investment opportunities and insurance solutions for her clients to ensure their financial success. Her areas of specialty include retirement planning and estate planning for the family market.
Maria is a Private Market Specialist with Pinnacle Wealth Brokers, an Exempt Market Dealer working with clients to reach the height of financial success. This allows her to offer her clients cash flowing investments that are not directly correlated to the performance of the public markets.
Maria is also the co-founder of National Best Financial Network, an innovative network of insurance and financial professionals who work collaboratively to provide their clients with solutions to their needs in four key areas: debt and cash flow, insurance, investments, and estate planning. National Best has created a unique culture of collaboration that fosters a willingness to share ideas, training, talents, skills, knowledge and expertise with their fellow advisors, which, in turn, provides the highest level of service for their clients. Maria also accepted the Chair position of the NEMA Advisor committee for the upcoming year.
Qualifications / Work History:
Maria Lizak holds her Exempt Market license with Pinnacle Wealth Brokers and her Life and Accident & Sickness licenses with National Best Financial Network. She has over 13 years experience in financial services.
Maria holds a Ph.D. from the University of Saskatchewan in Clinical Psychology. Her studies were focused on neuropsychology, family therapy and additions, and her dissertation examined Sense of Community.
Maria has lived in all four Western provinces of Canada: She was born in White Rock, BC, grew up in Manitoba, did her graduate studies in Saskatoon, SK and then moved to Calgary, AB to complete her internship. She has lived in Airdrie, AB since 2006 with her husband Robert and their three children: Anna 14, Michael 11, and Peter 8 years.
As the oldest of 5 children, Maria developed a talent for organizing people and ideas and calls herself a Professional Encourager and Mastermind. “People are always willing to do what I ask them to do, as long as I only ask them to do the things they are willing to do."
When she’s not working with clients or mentoring advisors, Maria loves cooking, exercising, and singing. She is the Senior Director of a 20 member choir in Calgary and is actively involved in the Ukrainian community in Calgary.
I believe that our ultimate success in life depends on an awareness of our talents and on our willingness to work with others who are talented in areas that we are not.
I see too much fragmentation and self-interest in our industry, to the detriment of our clients. My vision is to encourage Exempt Market Dealing Representatives and other members of our financial services industry to work collaboratively for the benefit of our clients. When we coordinate our activities, we create something greater than what any of us could achieve individually.
